lyrics

The morning stars sang together when you took my hand in yours, but has the rain a father when the water jars in heaven pour? A mirror for the skies under the south wind blowing, feeling warm as you're laying still,
then I wake up with the burdens of my head laying there beside me instead of you. Then I sat up in the middle of this field and I shook off the mountains like blankets. With my sigh harmonizing with your whisper, I'm listening. Today you're singing me a springtime song, and so we'll carry on. Through her ocean eyes you are breathing into the horizon skies and they're glowing all the brighter like blue sparks in the night. And yet the constance I long for is something no woman can provide. Yeah, my love must go free if I'm really holding to what I mean to say. I was broken before I started and I'm staring down a sleepy sunrise, but that's the beauty that I've been missing. You're singing me a summer song and still we'll carry on. These seasons always are a-changing in ways that I've been afraid to. Strained by my pages or walls and our cages and the snow will be coming soon. And for every day but this one, I have given all I can. I've looked in all my directions as the lighthouse is pulling me in. With the waves crashing at my mind, you're the constance through dissonance and rhymes. Hold me fast like a child to a mother as she sings me an autumn song. Still we'll carry on. My heart was bound up and tethered to the mast of the ship I made. I'm bent on my own destruction, a bed in hell for the fights I create. Reason rearview mirrors are smaller, reason now is the only time. I've twisted and I've pulled for a labor of love, but I'm tripping over roots of grace. So my words become selfish weapons from a heart that's a selfish friend. I'm breathing out the cold when you're singing me a winter song. I want so bad to sing along, and you've been singing all along.
